Day 164: Fixing Stage Complete

20 04 2013

toolboxAnother stage complete, another invoice.  During the week we completed the Fixing Stage.  We are now down to the final straight to the finish line.

All the cabinets have been installed, the tiles have been delivered and painting should be just around the corner. The fixing stage also includes the completion of the internal plaster, architraves and skirting, stairs, basins, troughs and sinks, internal doors, cabinets and cupboards.

We have also organised a time in a few weeks for the curtain maker to meet us and Simon on site to do some window measurements.  The curtains will take about 6 weeks to make so getting them measured up now will mean they will be ready for handover.

Day164-12

Garage – ceiling is now plastered.

We are very happy with our colour selections of Pumice (the lighter colour) and Expresso Ligna (the darker one) for the cabinet laminex.

Your kitchen looks great! What size handles did you go with? Also, what colour paint for the walls did you choose?

Hi Kelly,

The Storage Door Handles we went with were ‘President 6513SS 240mm’ in a Satin Chrome finish.

In regards to the internal paint colours:

  • CEILING: DULUX BEIGE ROYAL QUARTER
  • WALLS: DULUX BEIGE ROYAL HALF

Hi Guys, Looking really good. Just curious though, our garage was plaster lined yet yours is brick. We built the Lindrum with Metrico, and been in 12 months. Was that an option? Paul

Hi Paul,

No, it was not an option. The only plaster in the garage is the ceiling. Otherwise everything else is brick.

A quick question: did you upgrade the water proof for the whole ensuite by opting frame less shower screen or the bath? I was told only water proof the shower area if use standard shower.
Thx
Al

Hi Al,

For the waterproofing of the shower/bath, we actually didn’t specifically request anything here. I can only guess that this is implicitly provided depending on what you are having installed. We only went frameless shower in the master ensuite.
